Shh!!! My Beauty Secrets for WINTER!!

Hello again!! It’s Friday night, I am sure you all are having your own sweet time with your loved ones! Christmas and New Year’s Eve is coming soon… I am sure all you ladies want to look fab ;) So, I thought of few things on prepping your skin for the big event for this winter!

My skin tends to get very dry during the winter. So, I have to pamper my skin every now and then. Here, are few things that I do for my skin… These tips are ideal for all skin type…

Avocado
        1. Avocado face pack/hair pack

This is my favorite skin care routine for winter. Avocado is rich in nutrients like Potassium, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Fatty acid. It is ideal for all skin type. I still remember the very first time I used with my sisters… I was like WOW!!! I wanted to share this long time back ... but I was waiting for winter J

  • Pick a fully ripe Avocado which can be easily mashed.
  • Cut it into two halves and extract all the ripe goodies from it into a bowl
  • For dry to extra dry skin: add one tea spoon of olive oil, it works wonder!
  • For oily to combination skin: add one tea spoon of lemon.
Note: Just the mashed avocado can be applied, it is ideal to all skin type.

  • Apply the mixture on to your face, leave it for 15 to 20 mins
  • Rinse it with warm water
  • Apply your favorite night time moisturizer!!

Note: Same method applies for hair pack as well!

Sugar
2. Sugar scrubs

This is also my all time favorite routine it works for any season.

Honey, sugar lemon scrub: Ideal for all skin type
Coconut, sugar scrub: This is ideal for dry to extra skin.

  3. Moisturize! Moisturize! Moisturize!

And the most important part is moisturizer! I have always used simple moisturizer for my bare skin. I may use fancy cosmetics but for my bare face I love using very simple moisturizer. I use Johnson & Johnson’s face cream or Johnson & Johnson’s baby cream or lotion(depending on season). I believe to keep it simple in this case, because the more we use heavy chemicals it tends to get more complicated.
Another favorite moisturizer is GLYCERIN! In a Bottle pour about half of the glycerin and fill it with rose water and one tea spoon of lemon. Within a week or so you will definitely have a glowing skin.

I hope this helps! Please feel free to leave comments below !!!

Olive oil for Winter!

Hello there!! A big hello after a long time!!!

It’s time! winter is here... It’s mid November and Ktm’s weather is getting cooler and cooler everyday… and I know everybody’s skin is acting up, so is mine. So, today I am here to share few of my easy to use tips using olive oil or Extra virgin olive oil to keep your skin soft and moisturized for this winter.

Olive oil is one good source for moisture. It is rich in Vitamin E. It is a perfect skin and hair remedy especially for winter.

Skin:

Our skin gets dry and rough during winter, especially the elbow, knees and the cuticles.

  • Massage your body with olive oil about 10 to 20 mins before shower. This helps to lock the moisture and prevent it from drying.
  • Also apply after the shower; it is my personal favorite moisturizer for winter. It is odorless and does not smell like other oils do.

Hair:

With winter comes the dry and brittle hair, so regular massage of olive oil prevents from drying and split ends.

  • Give your scalp a nice massage applying olive oil on it.
  • Mix about 2 tablespoons of olive oil and eggs(1-3 according to your hair length) and apply the pack on your for about 20 mins. Shampoo and condition as usual. This results soft and shiny hair or let’s just call it conditioner/moisture pack!

Benefits of olive oil:

  • makes the skin soft and supple.
  • rich in Vitamin E, which helps in reducing wrinkles and improved texture of your skin.
  • natural product without any side effects,so skin irritation is not common.
  • regular use gives glow to the skin, which gives younger looking skin.
  • silicon ingredient helps to make your hair manageable.
  • helps to grow hair faster.
  • works great for dandruff .

Please try and feel free to comment about your experience. Send in your message on facebook for any beauty tips i'd be more than happy to help!

Multi task ur eye shadow!!!

Hey there! “multi task our eye shadow”, yes! I find this helpful especially when I am travelling. So, enjoy girls!!!

Eyeliner: Apply eye shadow with an angled brush to your lower waterline (click here: anatomy of an eye); it does n’t smudge comparing to pencil eyeliner.

Bronzer/blush: Pick a bronze colored eye shadow to contour your cheeks or pink/peach color on your apples of your cheek (eye shadow is highly pigmented comparing to the bronzers/blushes so swipe the product just once!!!)

Lipstick: Dab some petroleum jelly on your lips and apply your favorite eye shadow color. If you have a mineralized powered shadow, mix it up with a transparent lip gloss to create your own customized lip gloss.

Brow Powder: We get different shades of brow powder in the market, but we can still work with dark shade of eye shadows like black, dark grey, dark brown etc. Apply it with an angled brush on your brows to give that natural look comparing to the brow pencil.

Nail Polish: Mix the powdered shadow with a transparent nail polish to create a customized nail polish.

TEEJ fever: Touch up tips!!!

Pic: Saroj Man Tuladhar @Ads!
Hey there! I know I have disappeared for a while, you guys have no idea how much I missed you all. I got engaged in few projects, which made me so occupied that I didn’t have any time to write! And, yes! I am finally here to write more about make-up tips.

“Teej” is coming near, which is Nepali women’s one of the most important festival. So, I thought sharing few of my touch up tips which will help you all specially when you are dancing and standing up in the line under the scorching heat!

Firstly, let’s start on what to carry in your purse for a quick TOUCH UP!

1.     Ear buds
2.     Wet wipes
3.     Cotton Balls
4.     Paper towel or blotting tissues or dry tissues
5.     Translucent powder or Powder foundation
6.     Kabuki brush
7.     Eyeliner
8.     Eye shadows, angled brush
9.     Foundation, concealer (if needed for a heavy touch ups)
10. Lipstick/ Lip gloss
11. Hand sanitizer

Re-applying lipstick and kajal are very basic touch ups, which most of us are aware of, and most of us tend to follow :). Besides, this let me share few of my touch tips that I usually follow,

1.     Firstly, I like to blot all the excess oil away from my shiny parts of my face, especially on my “T- zone area” (forehead and nose area). This helps to remove excess oils from the face and prevents caked up look.

2.     I usually don't do touch ups on foundations or concealers unless I have to, however if I do, I apply little at a time(remember little is more… you can easily add the product if you want)

3.     Re-applying blushes can freshen up your look, for touch ups I like to apply very little, it shouldn’t be heavy like you initially applied or else you'll look like a clown.

4.     “Fasting” can be tiring; to have a fresh look I like to swipe (with an angled brush) a bright shimmer (maybe in white or champagne) shadow under my brow bone, inner corner and my lower waterline depending on the look.

5.     When re-applying lip glosses or creamy lipsticks, I first like to blot the product with a blotting paper/tissue/paper towel or remove the entire product with a wet tissue first and apply the lipstick or lip gloss.

And remember, touching up makeup doesn’t really mean doing your entire face all over again, it simply means that you take off what’s little ruined and replace it with a fresh, new layer!

Happy TEEJ ya’ll! Have fun ;)

Bipashi: your 'QUERIES', my 'TIPS' !!!

Hey PPL!! Firstly, I wanna thank all of you for sending me those lovely and inspiring messages. I had a really good time reading all those!! J That is why I thought, this week, I would do a blog answering your queries. If your questions are not being covered this time, no worries! I will definitely cover it soon with a blog or a blog like this one where I will answer all your make-up and beauty queries.

On my Facebook Page “Bipashi’s Make-up & Styling”, I asked if you guys wanted Beauty or Make-up tips. I had a lot of queries relating to both the topics but maximum numbers of queries were of “Beauty tips”. So, I have picked few questions today, I hope this help everybody in general.

1.      I am 24 years old and I have gray hair especially in the front part that makes me feel old  I have started to color it but its increasing day by day. Do you have any suggestion what kind of color would be good? I used to have very thick and healthy hair but after coloring it’s thin and has lots of split ends (though I cut it). Where can I meet you?? Seriously in need of help – Rejina Giri

-         Many people’s hair turns into gray before even getting into their thirties. This is called “premature graying”. I personally don’t suggest hair dyes and colors because those do give instant results but loads of side-effects like hair fall, makes the hair strands thinner and prolonged use might increase the number of gray hair! But, if you have a lot of gray hair, it shows that it is permanent, so in this case hair color can be used.

There are several reasons why we have premature gray hair.

Causes of premature gray hair:

·        Premature graying is basically hereditary in most of the cases if you get it during your twenties.
·        Deficiency in vitamin A, B and minerals like iron, copper and iodine.
·        Excessive intake of coffee, tea and alcohol.
·        Deficiency of nutrients especially copper can reduce the production of melanin (melanin is the pigment that gives color to hair, skin and eye, which helps to protect from the sun).
·        Excessive intake of sour and acidic foods.
·        Excessive intake of fried and oily food.
·        Smoking habits.
·        Prolonged use of hair colors and dyes which specifies for gray hair.

        Natural home remedies:

·        Onion: Make an onion paste and apply it on your affected scalp area for few days before taking a bath. The smell might not be pleasant but it helps to get back those black hairs.
·        Coconut and lemon juice:  Massage the scalp with the mixture of coconut oil (amount according to your hair length) and lemon juice (3 tbsp) one hour before your shower.
·        Henna (mehendi) hair pack: Apply henna and amla paste on your hair regularly, one hour prior talking a shower. Henna with lemon, henna with black tea, henna with coffee can be also used. (not recommended to use regularly for dry to extra dry hair)
·        Black tea: Boil 2 table spoons of tea without sugar or milk. Let it cool to room temperature and apply it all over your hair for an hour, then rinse it with the cool water without using any shampoo. You can use shampoo once you rinse all the tea away from your hair.
·        Ginger and honey: Eat mixture of one tbsp of honey and grated ginger every day.
·        Healthy diet: Include your diet with healthy foods enriched with Vitamin A, B and minerals like copper, iron, and iodine.
·        Water: Last but not the least, drink about 10 to 12 glasses of water, this is the most important tips among all.

All above remedies are natural remedies; it might not show results over night. So, have patience and please follow it regularly!

2.   I have acne scars and I want it to GO...but it doesn’t...will you help me out?
I would be so happy if you would help me out. Thank you! -
Shaista Shelista Thapa

-         Acne scars if deep cannot be removed permanently but can be reduced with various methods.

Natural remedies for acne scars:

·        Slice a tomato, and apply the inner side against your scars for about 1 minute consecutively. Follow this step every day.

·        Another effective method is to apply lemon juice over night and rinse it off the other day. Lemon can be used alone or can be used with honey. For honey and lemon pack leave it for about 15 mins and rinse it off with cool water.

·        Pop 2-3 Aspirins with few drops of water until they form a paste, then apply it to your scars for about 15 mins and rinse it off with water. Salicylic acid in the aspirin helps to remove the scars.

·        Egg whites are also another effective method to reduce the acne scars. Apply the solution on your scars for 5 mins and rinse it off with cool water.

·        Cucumber face pack helps to make the skin smooth and supple.

Thank you Rejina and Shaistha, for sharing your queries.  Please feel free to drop in your queries and suggestions, I'd be happy to help.

            Hugs and kisses,
            Love Bipashi....
